Durban as been very quite for the last couple of weeks when it comes to Tournament Play. We have restarted the YDL standings and will be having bigger tournament on a more frequent bases.
The Venue for all YDL Tournament will be that Chatsworth Youth Centre, which as been Durbans official Home of Yugioh for the last 6 years and as hosted all Durbans Major Events. Every saturday without fail there are always Duelist of all calibre at the Youth Centre(or the YC as it is known) form 12h00 to 16h00 and unless otherwise stated all YDL tournys take place in this time frame.
There are general two types of tournaments style we play.
1- the Sprint, this tourny style is 100% Durban made and is a simple tourny using a time limit to the tournament itself. The general theory is with 8 to 16 players, with a 2 hour time limit this tourny can have between 4 to 6 rounds(up to 8 if time allows it) and the player with the most wins at the end of the 2 hours wins the tourny. Its simple coz the first round is the only round that requires paring of opponents thereafter you just have to keep playing the first duelist that as finished there our duel(winning fast is the aim in this tourny so you cannot wait for people to finish to play them).
2- The Round Robin, its also a basic tourny with all duelist play each other once and after all have versed the top four players go into a semi finals. If the first Tournament style is about speed this one is more endurance cause that tournaments can take forever.
Now we have a tourny at the Youth Centre every Saturday as long as there is 8 or more players. This year we are gonna be have bigger Tournaments with some good prize support and as always the YDL is a league and its all about the rank and continues play can give the bragging rights to call yourself the best Duelist is Durban.
So with all that out of the way I would like to inviet all interested Duelist to the first YDL Tournament of 2012.
